As an accompanying programme to the European Media Art Festival, Bitlabor invites children and young people to explore media in a creative, artistic, and experimental way: in various workshops, participants discover and try out narrative and artistic techniques and formats. A whole morning will be devoted to sketches, experiments, and prototypes, ranging from documentary and experimental films to creating their own interfaces and control mechanisms to interactive narratives and playable experiences. Participants will also be introduced to tools and approaches available to them beyond Bitlabor. This year, for the first time, there will also be an accompanying media education training course for teachers and educators. A visit to the EMAF exhibition will round off the programme and provide participants with a further point of contact with experimental and artistic practice.
