Single-channel video

The video work Boys Never Liked Me is dedicated to a man’s world. Between a scene from a male-dominated western and the roaring sound of a sports car engine, a young boy can become caught in the confusion of gender norms. A reflection of the boy’s own truth in written text is combined with a confrontational stare. It is an observation of hidden exclusion and rising sexuality. A passing wish for heteronormative adaptation finally evolves into a gay rebirth.
