Sculptures

Frozen in the motion of falling, having fallen and now being motionless. Kılıç’s sculptures refer to cloths and drapes that are hung around large rooftop beds typical of rural Kurdish culture. In this series of works, they lie left behind unused. The sculptures capture the memory and re-imagination of them while processing longing and the grief of severance. They encapsulate falling and the distance from community, safe spaces and rest.
