4-channel video installation

The Claim of Non-Existent Spaces is an exploration of identity, power and space that blurs the boundaries between art, activism and social critique. It centres on a series of performances in the toilets of the art academy – places where a strict gender binary is manifested. The installation presents the events simultaneously from four different surveillance camera perspectives, creating a comprehensive yet clinically detached view. In doing so, the work raises questions about the autonomy of the individual in institutional contexts.
