Part of her “earth/body” artworks, the Silueta Series comprises sculptural works created in the landscape using natural materials such as grass, flowers and dirt. Reclaiming ancestral connections to the land, these powerful yet minimal pieces evoke multiple layers of meaning, from rupestrian art to animistic spiritual practices and beyond. A trailblazer who left a lasting impact on the 1980s New York art scene. She has become a key figure in resisting the erasure of women artists and gender- based violence.
